The success of the Electricity Retrofit Incentive Program in 2007 and 2008 prompted St. Thomas Energy Inc. to run the program again for our business customers. Any non-residential customer planning to undergo an energy efficient retrofit in their building or premises are being encouraged to participate now.

ERIP is an incentive program designed to encourage high-efficiency electricity retrofits to existing structures. With all the financial and timing considerations, energy-efficient options may not be the first thing on your mind. So we�ve made it easy for you. ERIP gives you the most energy-efficient solutions to improve your bottom line.Participants in the ERIP program who are planning on retrofitting a building can benefit from great incentives that will save them money.

Whether you are retrofitting from prescribed list of options or doing a custom job which is unique to your building, ERIP offers incentives based on electricity savings, so there�s something for everybody.

Timelines

Applications are accepted until December 31, 2010.
Eligible projects must be completed within a year after the application was approved.

Qualifications

Applicants must be St. Thomas Energy Inc.�s commercial customers.
Applicants may be owners or tenants of business premises supplied by St. Thomas Energy Inc.

Please note that if you are a tenant, you must obtain permission from the property owner for installation of the measures for which an incentive is claimed.

Qualifying Projects

Incentives will be available for pre-approved projects that result in measurable reductions in electrical peak demand. These projects may be completed using energy efficient technologies prescribed by the program or may be based on innovative custom initiatives.

Prescriptive Technologies

Incentives are offered for pre-approved technologies on a per unit basis.

Lighting

- Fluorescent lighting systems (T8, T5, CFL)

- Metal halide lighting systems

- LED �EXIT� signs

- Occupancy sensors

Motors

- Three phase premium efficiency motors 1-200 hp

Cooling equipment

- Unitary A/C units up to 25 tons that are energy star qualified or CEE compliant

Agriculture

- 24� ventilation fans

- Livestock waterers

- Swine creep heat and controls

Custom Projects

All technology, equipment and systems are evaluated on the basis of their electrical demand reduction. The incentive offered of $250/kW is based specifically on the level of improvement.
