Brian Hollywood was introduced Wednesday as the new president and CEO of St.Thomas Energy Services Inc. effective April 30.

His appointment as president/CEO of St.Thomas Holding and St.Thomas Energy will be confirmed at their next meetings.

Hollywood, who has been general manager at Lindsay Hydro-Electric since 1990, was welcomed by Ald. Sharon Crosby, who chairs the city-held firms' board, and interim president/CEO Mayor Peter Ostojic.

"This is a good operation," noted Hollywood, "and everyone has been working hard in the absence of a full-time CEO. This is an exciting time for me."

Hollywood has served on various organizations, including the provincial board of directors of the Municipal Electric Association, and he indicated his priorities are clear-cut. "I want to grow the business here and I want to explore other business opportunities. Those are my two priorities."

His immediate goal is to meet with staff as quickly as possible. "For the staff, I think they are keen to have someone at the head of the pack. I'm really impressed with the staff and their positive nature."

Hollywood will be joined in St.Thomas by his wife, Wendy, while his two daughters-Alanna and Laurel are already very familiar with the area. Alanna is an officer with the City of London police service while Laurel is studying graphic design at Conestoga College in Kitchener, Ont.
